Day 180

                              Hey guys. What's shakin'?
Not much going on. I am almost a year old.... I was very excited about the idea of a huge party. Something that would blow any episode of sweet 16 out of the water BUT then I overheard my mom saying how she is not even going to let me eat cake. I yelled "Let them eat cake!" but she walked out of the room.
I have started talking now and prefer to say "BA BA BA BA BA". I feel it expresses my emotions.

I have been kind of crafty around here. Much to dad's dismay I  picked up this old 1980's headboard off the side of the road and turned it into
This.... The hardest part was dragging it home.
The only thing now is that it is too long to fit on the wall I originally wanted it on and so now we do not know what to do with it.

Any ideas on where to put this monstrosity? It's cool though huh?

I have been wanting to make my own tooth paste, deodorant, soap for some time and I found some recipes today. Anyone out there do this? I will need time to perfect this before I need to use any of it!
Wellness Mama has a deodorant recipe that I think I am going to start with first. I will let you know how it goes....

Day 164

I have learned a few things about my life:

I do not like Opera.

I get really tired while I watch my mom clean the kitchen.

My brother is the funniest kid alive.

Day 151

Holy smokes! I'm 8 months and it is fa- reakin hot!!!!
I have recently found my toes. How come none of you told me about these amazing things? Apparently they have been there this whole time. If you have the chance you should grab them today- it is wonderful.
I also have sprouted two chompers since I last blogged. That was part of the reason I have not been on the computer for a while. I got sick, an ear infection and two new bottom teeth and it sucked. Man, does it hurt. And being a primary nose breather- having a stuffy nose was not fun either.... although I hate that green torture device that mom and dad use to suck out the snot. Maybe the snot is better then that thing?
Thank goodness for eucalyptus oil.
I watched some videos of the BYU clogging dance team and have been practicing- what do you think?
video

Because it is fa-reakin hot we have been discussing Halloween costumes. Frick wants to be a vampire and Frack wants to be Hello Kitty. Mom has talked about making me a chicken wing costume, with some dipping sauce. I am not sure how I feel about this.

I hope you are well, and it is not as hot where you are as it is here.

Here we are getting ready for church. Hangers taste really good too- no one told me that either.
Frick did get shoes on and his tie fixed before we left the house. Check out my leg warmers- arnt they cute! Here is a link to make them yourself. Mom loves to hate to sew and she made these fairly easy. Click here to view it.

What are you going to be for Halloween?

Day 121

Sorry I have not blogged in a while. Let me explain-
mom was telling everyone what a good baby I was. She said that R&R constantly wanted to be held.... and I got to thinking that didn't sound too bad, so I have been giving that a try. It's hard to blog when mom is holding me and doing the laundry at the same time.
Some minor changes in the house:
We got a new chicken named "Buffalo" and she bit Rhett.
Rhett is now voting in favor of eating "Buffalo."
Reese has been potty training and gets lipstick when she goes in the potty.
She of course has to put the lipstick on herself, and ends up with a glittery- pink- Hitler type look. Truly fascinating.

I hope you have had a good week. Any new developments you want to share?
Any glittery Hitler's on your side of town?

Day 102!

I hope you all had a great weekend. My parents hiked us a mile to go see fireworks, my sister got red, white, and blue nail polish and my brother yelled "woo-hoo" all night.

Mom is still doing things like this to me. This time it is the hat from mister potato head. You would think she has better things to do....

I am working on a thesis that I will share soon, and that will examine the age old question-
what is really better, The pacifier or the thumb?

I will let you know what I find.
I hope you have a good rest of the week!!

Day 194

There are many reasons why this..... is not okay.
I 'm gonna write a letter to someone, and complain. Mom's supervisor maybe? Do mom's have supervisors?
Mom had to get my sister's jammies on, and needed some place to put me. She didn't want to put me on the floor (not sure why)
and then I hear her laughing as she puts me in my sister's baby stroller. For dolls.
At least she had enough sense to not let Reese push me around (although she did beg to do so)
What's next? A doll crib?
I declare shenanigans.

Day 189

I have an issue that I would like to discuss. A concern really.
My brother was born with a full head of hair, in fact the doctor snapped pictures of it during an ultrasound.

My older sister also.... had hair. Lots of it too.
Britta had hair- much more then me... and we are identical twins. How does that even work?
How am I supposed to get the looks I need with no luscious locks? I long for an up-do like this. (mom did this up-do by the way).... and yes Kristen that is you in the background.

Heck, I would even settle for a Snooki.

Anyways. In my desperation I was up late watching infomercials and a certain product caught my eye.
It said it would make my hair grow, and so I gave it a try.....
but this is what happened. What do I do now?
I am to little to cut with scissors.
I seriously need some help. Any suggestions? Even an horror story about a bad style you had would help me feel better. Thanks guys.

Day 186

maybe its the heat? it's 3000 degrees outside (and its not even 8 AM)
or maybe this just looks too delicious. i have to get mom to make this today.
check out simply scratch. it is a great website full of recipes made from- yep you guessed it, scratch.

Day 185

It is too hot in AZ. I'm gonna rent a place for the summer in the tropics, and I found the perfect spot.
 Spacious doors. Lots of room.
See the coconut tree? Perfectly tropical.
Big windows with lots of natural light.
I just have to get the current tenets (who are diaper salesman) evicted!!!

Day 180

If you need a good laugh- WATCH THIS!
The LAHWF boys on You Tube are funny. I laughed so hard I peed my diaper.

Day 178

I hope you had a good weekend.
Friday I met with the pediatric neurosurgeon. He was really cool, and he had spam on his shoes. Yes, spam. Rhett and Reese sat on the floor and stared at his shoes for about 10 minutes. The rest of the time they just embarrassed mom.
I was supposed to get a MRI on my brain..... but the doctor Spam (we decided to call him that in the car) gave my mom an option of either having the MRI, or coming back in a few months for a check up.
Mom of course went with door number two- so no MRI for me. The reason for the MRI is to check on the bleeding on my brain, as bleeding can sometimes cause pressure and fluid build up. But my head is of normal size, and doctor Spam was not too concerned.
It was nice to be back in the old neighborhood again. Whoot Whoot 602.
Saturday mom worked on the book, and my brother and sis were brave enough to take in the slide of death. Dad rigged the hose to flow down the slide, and then added a slide of death slip and slide. It is so hot out here in good old AZ, if I was old enough I would have taken my chances on the slide too.
Mom made them a phone from cans and a string. They kept calling them "cell phones." Man, they have no idea.

I chilled in my bumbo. Every time mom saw me sitting in it, she laughed at me.
Sunday we went to church, and everyone said how cute I was. It was awesome.
Have a good week, and don't forget Father's day is coming up. I have no idea what to get my dad. What are you getting the man in your life?

Day 170

Hi everyone! How was your week? Not much new here. Mom has a bagillion pounds of fabric, and planned to make blankets out of it. She wanted to donate the blankets to Phoenix Children's Hospital NICU (my hood).
There is only one problem with this splurge of service, and that is she hates to sew. She made two blankets and then decided since she had two babies- she would donate two blankets! If she had five babies, then she would donate five, but she only had two.
This logic does not make sense to me, but I did learn some new words while watching her sew.
Here is a picture of the blankets, and I am excited to take them to the hospital. She also made some flowers and head bands to donate and made a special flower for my primary nurse, Megan. I miss Megan.
I think she is going to farm out the rest of the sewing to the young women at church, they might need a service project.
I am happy to report that the book is coming along. We did get an offer from a friend at church, and so we have decided to change illustrators. It was a hard decision, but I am excited to finish the book and get it printed!
I wanted to share this with you. Mom has a friend named Tara, and she gave mom a recipe for home made baby wipes. She made some and they are cheap to make and soft on my buns. I like em'.
If you want to try it, here is the recipe from providentlivingtoday.com

Spice Traders Wet Wipes
(my mom uses Do Terra oil, but you can use what ever you like)

A roll of paper towels cut in half
A round Tupperware, that the half roll will fit into
2 C water
2 Tbsp Baby Oil
2 Tbsp Baby Soap
5 to 8 drops of Spice Traders Essential Oil

Cut your roll of paper towels in half. Place one half in the Tupperware, and set the other half aside for the next time you make wipes. Mix together water, oil, soap and spice traders and pour over your paper towels.

Let it sit for a few minutes before you try to remove the cardboard center of the paper towels. Once that is removed, wait another 15 minutes to let the paper towels equally absorb all of the liquid. After that, begin using your baby wipes by pulling from the center.

My mom celebrated her birthday this week too, and she made a chocolate pie. It looked so good, I was ready to grow some teeth so I could eat it. You should try it.
Here is the recipe. Yum! Have a good week! I have an ultrasound on my brain this week. The doctor will be checking my brain bleed that happened when I was born, and will also be discussing if I need a helmet. I will let you know how it goes.

Day 165

Am I a good sport or what?
Grandma Georgia showed my mom this. ....I am gonna have a talk with her.

Day 164

Happy Memorial Day everyone. We went to Britta's gave today. It seems like it has been longer then 5 months since she passed away.

I hope you are able to visit your loved ones graves, and of course remember the fallen Heros who have died while fighting for our freedoms.
This week my brother graduated from Preschool
He kept calling his diploma a "telescope". Hope he doesn't do that when he graduates high school.

and we celebrated my dad's birthday.
We went to my Gram's cabin for Memorial Weekend.
The weekend was full with:
Eating..... not much else to do in the mountains.
My mom painted the girls' fingernails.... everyone but mine. I am apparently not old enough yet.
My cuz Blair is terrified of "bugs" and she squealed  most of the time.
I talked to my other cuz Caleb a bit and filled him in on the family.
My brother and sister along with all the cousins looked like street urchins after playing outside all day, and they would crash after their bath. Exhibit A:

Mom and I would sit out on the porch. She would read while I listened to the breeze blowing through the tall trees. The wind almost sounds like horses, it is so loud and distinguished.
Dad, mom and I got to watch my favorite show.... Revenge
We do not have TV at our house, but there are a couple shows my parents like to watch on line.
If you have not seen Revenge you must watch it. Mom started watching it while she was in the hospital recovering from Britta and me, and soon got my dad hooked.  She would talk to the nurses at the hospital about the show and that got me curious. Since I was in the NICU when she started watching I had to catch up on my own. You can see the old episodes here.

I will give you a run down:
A: Emily. Her father was framed for an act of domestic terrorism. and she is seeking "revenge."
B: Daniel. Emily's Fiance and son of the Grayson's (G and H in the picture)
C. Jack. Emily is really in love with him
D. Nolan. Her partner in crime and friend of her father's. Nolan promised her dad he would look out for Emily.
E. Decklin. Brother of Jack, and was the boyfriend of Charlotte (F)
F. Charlotte. Daughter of the Grayson's
G and H. Victoria and Conrad Grayson. Owners of Grayson Global and framed her father.
I can't write too much more with out giving most of the plot away- but it is a fantastic show. You have got to watch it. ...and I think Jack (C) is a hunk!

Day 158

Hi everyone! Sorry I have not posted in a while- I misplaced my password again. I have got to find a better place then my diaper to keep all of my important paperwork.
Lots has happened.

My gram bought a house in the mountains, and we go to go up the weekend before last. My mom and dad brought my oxygen and monitors to make sure I could handle the thinner air due to the elevation, but I was a champ. (shoulder brush)  In the middle of the night while we were there my aunt Laura started having contractions. She drove back down to the valley and luckily made it back in time! She had her baby soon after- so now I have a new cousin. Welcome Caleb to our crazy family! I need to get him alone and we can discuss some things. Caleb and I are basically the same size, too bad he is not a she because I could double my wardrobe.

I went to the doctor and am now 8lb 9oz. My  pulmonologist told my mom I should be gaining twice as much weight as I am..... what does she want me to do? Sit in Manteca and hope that I absorb it? Besides I like it when people ask my mom how old I am, and she says "5 months." They get the funniest looks on their faces. The doctor ordered me a sleep test to measure my oxygen levels at night to make sure I am not having apnic spells at night.

My brother has been playing soccer and he scored a goal his last game. .....It was a goal for the other team mind you, but a goal none the less. We were very proud! I sure like watching my brother and sister. They never stop moving which is good when you have such a short attention span like me. My brother is one interesting kid.

My Aunt Amanda and Aunt Stephanie had a party for my mom. They called it a shower. It was the best party I have ever been to because soon after we got there I realized the party was all about ME!
I got to meet family and friends. Most of them held me but all of them said how cute I am and how small and adorable I am. It was awesome.... I could have stayed there all day.

My mom and I have been writing a book about Britta. We are really excited about it and she is going to self publish it. She found an illustrator named Patti. I did not get to meet her, but my mom says she is as cute as a button and so talented. We are all very excited. I will let you know the progress.

I found my fists. I didn't know I had these awesome little things on the end of my arms, but I do and they taste so good. If you get hungry you should check our your thumbs. I like them so much.

Here I am discovering my thumbs.

I hope you all have a good rest of the week. If you have time- check out your thumbs. They taste like chicken.
